Once you've been black bear hunting with Twin River Outfitting in Alberta you won't want to hunt anywhere else.

Alberta is estimated to have over 36,000 black bear!  Approximately 74% of the province is inhabited by black bear and much of it is largely undisturbed, the color phases range from dark chocolate brown to blond, many bear harvested in Alberta have made the Boone & Crockett and Pope & Young record books.

Our spring bear hunt is in WMU 344 northwest of Hinton Alberta Canada.

This is an excellent area for bears and we are proud to have a kill rate over 100%.  The area supports a good number of bears with a healthy proportion of large males and approximately 30-40% color phase bears from white through dark chocolate.

Hunters may take two bears and hunt wolves at this time of year.

We offer both rifle and archery hunts.

Blair recommends that you pass on anything under 6ft as, you will see better!

Current Hunting Area Weather
We hunt in WMU 344 northwest of Hinton Alberta Canada and east of Jasper National Park.

Vast amounts of this area have never been baited!!

In addition, due to the high level of oil activity there is a lot of cut lines that have been seeded with clover and are dandelion rich, making this area ideal for hunts.

Our hunts take place in a number of areas including ; logged off areas, pipelines, wallows, salt licks, cut lines, natural meadows, fields and other intriguing sites.

For our spring bear hunts the weather can be anything from a balmy 80-85 F, to a foot of snow and 20 degrees F.  We generally do not have a lot of rain but occasional showers can be chilly.  Bugs are usually not a problem but as the season progresses we will see more and more of the pesky critters so insect repellant is recommended.  Clothing is always a question and we suggest bringing clothes which can be layered with a good pair of water proof hiking boots (400-800 gr. Insulation) and a pair of felt lined rubber boots.
